Other trainings hand you a video. This one gives you a live class plus a ready-to-use toolkit — the materials to put what you learn into practice immediately. (See the toolkit graphic above for everything included.)

What you'll learn

This course covers evidence-based safe sleep practices, risk reduction for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), and techniques for preventing Shaken Baby Syndrome. We'll explore infant brain development, common triggers of caregiver frustration, how to respond to excessive crying, and how to build safe sleep environments in home and early learning settings. By the end, you'll be able to identify current safe sleep recommendations, recognize and reduce SIDS risk factors, explain the dangers of Shaken Baby Syndrome, apply calm response strategies for a crying infant, and promote a culture of infant safety in your program.

Upon completion, you'll receive 1.5 MiRegistry-approved training hours and a Certificate of Completion.

How this training works — please read before registering

1. Complete your payment here for the June 18 class.

4. Check your email. After you register, you'll receive your Zoom link, the class date and time, and your downloadable toolkit. We handle your MiRegistry enrollment on our end — no extra registration step for you.

5. Attend the live session. Afterward, your MiRegistry survey is sent and your 1.5 hours of credit and Certificate of Completion are recorded.
